Change in producer for Gabbar Singh

Pawan Kalyan had announced that he is launching a new production house on his own named ‘Pawan Kalyan Creative Works’ and is planning to remake the successful Bollywood film ‘Dabangg’ with the title ‘Gabbar Singh’ under the direction of Harish Shankar.
However, after tasting the success through ‘Teenmaar’, the Power Star was delighted with the time and finance management of Ganeshbabu and offered him to take the responsibility of producing ‘Gabbar Singh’, as he himself may not be able to handle so many works including acting, script and production on his own.
Learning that Pawan Kalyan is ready with the offer to handover the production responsibilities to some other, several other producers also knocked his doors, it is reliably learnt.
However, Pawan Kalyan reportedly insisting on the director to rehash the entire script by taking only the storyline and change the movement of the story to suit the Telugu nativity.
The director too is working hard to introduce punch dialogues in the film and impress the audiences in general and the Power Star and his fans in particular.
The film is expected to start rolling in July. On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan is planning to joint the unit of ‘Shadow’ too simultaneously.

Chaitu busy with his next project

Naga Chaitanya is presently enjoying the success of his latest film ‘100% Love’. Now he is busy shooting for his next film with Kajal playing the female lead in various locales in and around Hyderabad.
The movie which is being shot with a working title ‘Dream Lover’ is being directed by Ajay Bhuyan and produced by Chandra Reddy on the banner of Sri Kamakshi Enterprises.
It is worth mentioning here that D Sivaprasad Reddy is one of the best friends of Nagarjuna, while his son Chandra Reddy is a close pal to Nag’s son Naga Chaitanya.
The film had almost completed 50 per cent of its shooting so far. The film is based on a love subject with action in its backdrop.
As per the available information, the producer is making efforts to release the film in August.
Devisri Prasad scored music for the movie and it is learnt that the film unit is likely to decide the title through a contest.

new youth entertainer kendireega

Ram and Tamanna are pairing up for ‘Kendireega’ produced by Bellamkonda Suresh introducing a Tamil director Santosh Srinivasan to the Tollywood.
The film unit is presently choreographing songs in an abroad schedule. Ram is eagerly waiting for a break after suffering a failure through ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna’ and had kept high hopes on the success of this film.
He is taking utmost care in all the aspects of the film. The film is claimed to be a youthful entertainer and is expected to hit the screens in July.

luv KA end

 Seriously, 'Luv Ka The End' could well have been relegated to MTV/Channel V short films segment as there is absolutely nothing that is a good enough reason for you to visit a theatre, spend helluva money on ticket/popcorn and then see a film which is small by all means, whether setting, idea or execution. One can sense that director Bumpy had to work in a restricted budget and that reflects in the overall narrative.
One can still live with a small setting if the film grips you enough. However this is something truly lacking in 'Luv Ka The End' as it doesn't even try to be imaginative and follows a route that is not just predictable but also unexciting.
Inspired by 'John Tucker Must Die', the film has a 18 year old girl (Shraddha Kapoor) taking revenge on her cheating boyfriend (Taaha Shah) by ganging up with her band of girls and a computer geek. The story is set in a night where the idea is to get even on Taaha by depriving him of four C's - Car, Cash, Charm and Chamchas.
Well, so far so very good as you do get an impression that there indeed would be some innovation in going through these chapters. You do empathise with Shraddha, the motive for revenge is well established as well, the song 'Tonight' continues to haunt you throughout and there is game set for 'love ka the end'!
However from this point on the key element - fun - starts fading away with every passing sequence. Girls spraying itching powder in Taaha's undergarments, ganging up to smash his car, depriving him of his credit card, spoiling his date with a hot friend, drugging him so that he loses his mind and lands in a downmarket bar and then hooking him up with a gay friend - it's all so conveniently done.
Worse, the song 'Mutton' which is seemingly placed as a last minute inclusion, is not just unnecessary but also repulsive. It's the climax though that takes the cake, a bitter one at that, with a live footage of Taaha trying to get even with Shraddha. Not just in bad taste, it is also incomprehensible and just not happening.
Eventually what still remains with you to some extent is the song 'Tonight', Shraddha's natural act and a perfect casting as a teenager, Taaha's charm that makes one believe that he has a lot better to offer and a few moments here and there that are reasonably enjoyable.
A film that wasn't too high on expectations please promised a lot more than what it actually delivers; this film directed by Bumpy is surprisingly low on entertainment quotient, something that is a basic requirement of a teen comedy. Juvenile and amateur - that's what 'Luv Ka The End' is for you

DUM MAARO DUM

'Dum Maaro Dum' is a decent watch though one strongly believes that if only the momentum as created at the beginning would have sustained till the end, this keenly antcipated film could have been a new chapter in the genre of suspense thrillers.
At the very onset you realise that Sippy was pretty clear about the direction he wanted 'Dum Maaro Dum' to take. The cards are laid out well with Abhishek Bachchan bringing on the angry young man avtar that his illustrious dad had patented in the 70s. So one gets to see the hero, a villain [Aditya Pancholi - pretty much modelled on the lines of Ajit and Prem Nath] and smuggling of 'maal', in this case - drugs.
You do become a part of all the action, especially around the time when Prateik finds himself caught after being mislead into being a career of drugs. Even though another lead protagonist, Rana Daggubati, stays on to be a silent spectator for most of the times, especially when his girlfriend (Bipasha Basu) too strays a distance away, you are gripped into the storyline courtesy Abhishek who is pretty much in form here.
The second half does tend to go a little haywire at a place or two, especially when the drama shifts to Rana-Bipasha story that threatens to kill the ultra strong build up that was put together by Rohan and his team during the first half. Still, in every interaction that Abhishek has with Aditya and the other thrilling moments that come at regular intervals, 'Dum Maaro Dum' does get back on track.
However what happens during the last 20 minutes is what pulls back 'Dum Maaro Dum' in a big way. Revealation of suspense is bound to see extreme reactions coming it's way as it just a little too convenient. That too could have been okay but the biggest sacrilege that the writer makes is to totally sideline Abhishek Bachchan's character which leaves one with a sense of emptiness.
If one puts aside the (anti) climax, 'Dum Maaro Dum' still has good things to offer at least during the first half. The series of events that lead to Prateik being arrested (the one involving a bag), the interaction between Abhishek and the Minister, 'Thayn Thayn' which actually takes forward an important sequence - each of the sequences make you totally engrossed in the narrative.
Unfortunately though the second half is marred by some mediocre sequences. Aditya Pancholi is defeated a little too conveniently, Vidya Balan's (playing Abhishek's dead wife) repeated 'spirit' act doesn't make you emotional while the hunt for the main villain eventually leads to nowhere.
Technically though the film is top notch with Goa being captured like never before. Background score is top notch and the narrative pattern (especially in the first half) reminds one of films like 'Snatch' and 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. Dialogues are terrific for most part of the film, especially the ones mouthed by Abhishek.
Abhishek seems effortless in his cop act and it is due to his character being so powerful that you want him to finish off the episode as well. Pancholi returns after a hiatus (if one ignores his 'Striker' act) and leaves a solid impact. Bipasha is good though just like 'Aakrosh', here too she finds herself in troubled shores. Rana Daggubati has a good screen presence and a great physique. He plays the vulnerable part well though in future one would want to see more varied range of expressions from him. Prateik Babbar is in a role that could have been handed over to any other junior character artist.
One watches 'Dum Maaro Dum' with huge expectations. You look forward to something cutting edge, exciting and stylish with a different storyline which is a complete edge of the seat entertainer. Well, by the time interval point flashes, you get all of this and more. However it is the concluding reels of the film that make you feel the drama slipping away and leaving you a lot more thirsty than what you would have bargained for.

haunted

ith the ground being set at the very beginning of 'Haunted', you find yourself on the edge of the seat within first 15 minutes itself as Vikram doesn't waste anytime whatsoever in establishing his characters and the plotline. With a gripping start that has regular elements like creaking doors, shrieking noises and those sudden scares in the night, 'Haunted' still continues to engage you because of Vikram's treatment.
It is a travel back in time for Mahakshay takes when he realises that the mansion for which he is trying to break a Rs. 200 crores deal is actually haunted by two spirits, one of which is that of a tormentor (Arif Zakaria) and other belonging to the tormented (Tia Bajpai). Hence the fight becomes different here as he doesn't have to fight off a 'bahatakti aatma'. Instead he has to save one 'aatma' from another, and that too by going back in the 1930s, something which is not just surreal (in true sense) but also seemingly impossible.
Also, though this is not a conventional love story in the making, you are still interested to know how it all unfolds as you join the journey of Mahakshay in his endeavour to save Tia. What accentuates this journey are the visuals that are vintage Vikram Bhatt.
The biggest USP of the film is 3D and it is well used with most of the scenes showcasing the kind of 'depth in frame' that one expects in a film with this technology. However how one wishes there were more 'jumping on you from screen' moments that would have made it all the more appealing. Moreover the climax could have been a tad better with more edge of the seat moments. In case of 'Haunted', after a terrific built up involving Achint Kaur (when she runs through the forest in the air after the lead pair), you would have expected the hunt for Arif to be a few notches up.
Also, one wishes music was used more effectively with the songs being longer than just playing for a few seconds in the background, hence also bringing on a relief element. Having said that, a small scene featuring Mahakshay and Tia where former shows her a cell phone (an unknown entity in the 1930s) and the latter is truly amazed, is done well, looks cute and brings in a smile especially in the time when the going is tough.
Mahakshay shows a vast improvement over his 'Jimmy' days and it is hard to believe that he is the same young man who seemed just so clueless in his debut effort. He makes his presence felt in 'Haunted' and though this film required him to keep a sad expression throughout, one waits to see how he does in his next outing that could require him to be 'full-on' hero. Tia is good in her debut and shows maturity as an actress. In this film she may not have presented as a true blue Bollywood heroine but given her looks, she can be expected to be noticed. Arif is as usual in his hamming while Achint as well as the man playing 'sufi baba' (Sanjay Sharma) are quite good.
As an overall package, 'Haunted' works as it is far better than many a horror films that have released between Vikram's own '1920' and now. Here the emphasis is on the thrill element and the storyline rather than set horror pieces here and there. Those who have loved Vikram's horror/dark films like 'Raaz', '1920' and even 'Kasoor' can well see his stamp in every shot of the film with everything from effective cinematography to 'just apt' background score coming together to make 'Haunted' turn out to be the kind of film that one always expected.
Go, give this one a chance as you munch your popcorn.

news

B-town ‘muscle’ Khan Salman Khan the man with a heart bigger than his biceps is all ‘Ready’ to set the cash register ringing again louder with his forthcoming blockbuster ‘Ready’.
After reviewing the concept of stardom and star power with a spectacular show with ‘Dabangg’ last year, this year Bollywood’s most good looking male and the still the most eligible bachelor at the age of forty five, Salman here speaks in his ‘bindass’ style with IG about ‘Ready’, the return of ‘heroism’ in Bollywood and also his marriage plans…...
After the super success of ‘Dabangg’, do you think ‘Ready’ will consolidate the position of ‘Heroism’ back in Bollywood?
Yes, everyone started making love story, rom com, niche films, we started missing our screen heroes, I want people to go to theater and say “Ahh…here comes my hero…I am in the business and I can pull it off.
Why a remake?
Earlier they used to copy our film as we used to make films on heroism. Most of the films written by my father are copied in Chinese, Malaya etc. now we are remaking there’s because they have not let the heroism go and it doesn’t make any big difference at the box office whether in north or south. Heroism should remain to ensure success.
Is Salimji writing any full fledge script?
No I don’t think he has the patience with today’s directors.
Have you seen the original?
Nope, I heard the narration and it has its unique quality, the dialogues, and the punch.
Any changes in the remake
The concept is the same but we have made some changes for wider audience like Asin character, the dialogues specially my dialogues.
Salman Khan’s character in ‘Ready’.
It’s No Entry ka character in Hum Aapke Hai Kaun house, means modern Hum Aapke Hai Kaun which is directed by Aneez Bazmee… All the family members are 21-24 year old by mind where old man cracks double meaning jokes; it’s a naughty film…
The one thing you look when any script comes your way
Hero should come out, should explain heroism with action drama and emotion.
Danger of getting typecast.
No Problem, what’s wrong with it, I enjoy it.
Aneez Bazmee the director of the film has some flops in recent time so does it bother you?
Aneez Bazmee is the most talented director in the industry, before coming into direction he was the writer for 8-9 films, everybody have their ups and down in life; I have mine. ‘Ready’ is a film which will bring Aneez Bazmee again to the “No Entry and Welcome” level.
Who should go and watch ‘Ready’?
There’s an audience for every film. Some go with family and some watch it alone. But everybody wants to see a good film. This film has lots of naughtiness for example the song ‘Character Dheela’ the kids don’t understand but we do. The kids picked up “saala” as it is allowed in public. So there’s something for everyone.
Why you have chosen Zarine Khan for the character dheela song?
Nobody wanted to do it, she did a favor.
Nobody wanted to do it??
Because I didn’t approach anyone (laughs) well the best part is that the song is sung by female because it’s not always the boys whose character is always dheela. Your dance movies become a rage…
From where you get those moves?
Well, I dance better than Hrithik Roshan but the entire world can’t dance like that so I keep the steps as simple as possible or make it simple, funny and stylish so that people can pick up.
You have used the iconic posters form the cult classics ‘Mughal-E-Azam’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Shree 420’ for ‘Character Dheela’ song, any specific reason?
They are the publicity campaign, it’s for promotion
Last year your film ‘Dabangg’ worked but not rest of the industry, what you think went wrong with them and what the right thing you did
There is nothing wrong. There was the time when rest of the industry was doing well and my films were just getting rejected at left, right and center. But I didn’t panic at that time.
Now I have realized that my responsibility is towards the person who is investing his Rs.10 or Rs.500 for the film, so we directed the Character Dheela and dhinka chika song again.
You have done everything in films except direction so when it’s going to happen
I will be doing in Aamir Production (laughs) and only when I have time…
You got many awards for Dabangg but you didn’t go to receive…
I don’t want any awards, I am happy. I get it when theater is full and audience whistle. If the film doesn’t work but the person gets awards then it is the worst thing on the Planet, Earth.
You act worse and you go and pick every award... huh..? Has success changed you?
This doesn’t change me at all I mean how can a hit or a flop can change a man, hit se dimag kharab ho jata hai aur failure se depression aa jata hai… I don’t believe that.
Recently Aamir have commented which meant that Salman need to be tied by his hands and legs to get him married? What’s your comment?
Even I want to tie him ( Aamir ) and won’t let him marry.. (Laughs).
Coming to on screen and off screen romance, intimate scenes in films have increased, what’s your take?
It increased in films but decreased in real life...
We haven’t seen such intimate scenes in your films…
Because I won’t enjoy doing it and you won’t enjoy watching it…
So ‘ready’ for a ‘hatrick’ of celebrations – ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Ready’ to follow…?
I am looking at 100 hatricks together, who wants to have a flop. I believe if you have a flop then it means you might have compromise somewhere or didn’t put your total effort.
What next?
‘Bodyguard’, Sohail Khan’s ‘Sharkhan’, Then Yash Raj film, ‘Dabangg 2’ ‘Kick’ and Kabir Khan’s film with Katrina.

RAGINI MMS

ragini mms 200x230 BollywoodWorld.com, Delhi-based Deepika, whose real life story inspired Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming film “Ragini MMS”, Friday said that if the film is not shown to her prior to its release, she will take legal action against the producer.
“I want to see the film. I have spoken to Ekta about it. She doesn’t want to show it to me, I don’t know why?” the 22-year-old told reporters here.
“I’m coming from Balaji office right now and the only answer I get is that the movie is not ready. How is it possible? The movie is releasing in one week. If I’m not shown the film before release, I will take legal action,” she added.
Deepika, who was shown the script of the film before it was filmed, said she wants to see whether she has been portrayed in the right light or not.
“When the film was being made, I was shown the script and I did read it. I have no problem with the script. But there is a lot of difference between reading the script and interpreting that on the screen. I want to see how they have portrayed my character. Because if there is something bad, then my image will be ruined,” said the Delhi girl.
“Ragini MMS”, which is produced by Ekta and directed by Pawan Kripalani, is slated to hit screens May 13 and is about a couple who go for an adventurous weekend and get filmed by 24 cameras amid some paranormal activity.
Ekta has maintained that only 30 percent of the film is based from Deepika’s incident and the rest is pure imagination.
According to Deepika, she was offered money as compensation for her story but she refused.
“Ekta asked me if I want to be paid. But I said no. she didn’t mention an amount but she said she can pay me for this. But I told her that I don’t want anything because it’s a story on my life,” she said.
In the real life incident, Dipika said, her boyfriend secretly filmed both of them involved in intimate physical contact.

In 22 years of his showbiz career, Shah Rukh Khan has perhaps hardly ever locked lips with his heroines and says he never will. He admits he is not just uncomfortable about kissing on screen, but that he doesn’t even know how to do it.
"I don’t kiss on screen because I don’t know how to do it. I don’t do it because I feel weird…and I feel those who do it in films, do it well already," Shah Rukh told reporters.
"I feel discomfort in doing two things for films. When anyone comes to narrate a story to me, I tell them two things – main ghoda nahin chalaunga aur main choomunga nahin (I won’t ride a horse and I won’t kiss)," added the star.
Shah Rukh’s well-known witty side came through when a young journalist asked him if reports that he has kissed Kareena Kapoor for his upcoming sci-fi superhero film ’Ra.One’ are true.
SRK seemed to be quite amused at being asked such a question at a press conference meant for the formal announcement of Tag Heuer’s tie-up with Buddh International Circuit, the host of Formula One in India.
"Where did you read these reports," he asked.
"They are all over the internet, probably reported from Mumbai," the reporter replied.
"How old are you my dear?" asked Shah Rukh, and the lady responded: "I am 25. But you shouldn’t ask a girl her age."
Came SRK’s quick rejoinder: "Well, dear, you don’t ask such questions to men! You’ve asked me this, I am a simple guy, a married man with kids…but don’t ask such a question to men on the street! But, because you are young, and possibly just stepped into journalism, please don’t believe whatever you read on the internet. It may not always be true."
Shah Rukh says if a film requires him to do things which make him uncomfortable, he quits.
"I don’t kiss simply because I am not comfortable doing it. I am pretty uncomfortable even at laughing in my films…so whenever there is a scene where I have to laugh, or where there is a scene where I am uncomfortable or I feel I will not be able to do justice to it, and whenever there are animals involved and I feel they might be mistreated, I quit the film in its narration itself."
Meanwhile, SRK, who is also the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) said that his team was doing well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) without former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who went unsold in the players’ auction earlier this year.
"I would have liked ’dada’ (as Ganguly is popularly known) to play for us but it wasn’t in the scheme of things we wanted," Shah Rukh said.
"I think we didn’t just have one reason for failing in the last seasons, we have lots of them. And this time we wanted to start with a clean state and give the reins of all the team decisions to the coaching staff. By nature I am a very sporting person, and I think the choices made were wonderful – the team is playing well," he added.
Ganguly has been roped in by Pune Warriors as a replacement for injured fast bowler Ashish Nehra and Shah Rukh has wished him good luck.
"As far as dada is concerned, he is my favourite player. I wish him all the best, wherever he goes. I hope he does very well with whichever team he plays – right now Pune Warriors, but hopefully not against us," said Shah Rukh with a smile.(IANS)

Story

Set on the backdrop of South Africa, Michael Velayudham (Pawan) is a happy go lucky man who doesn’t believe in love and lifelong commitments. He meets Meera Shastri (Trisha) and both of them hit off and get intimate without any strings attached.

The story takes a turn when Meera decides to go to India to pursue her career of art restoration and they decide to break up. It is here that Michael meets Senapathi (Paresh Rawal) who notices Michael’s affair and recalls the love story of his friend Arjun Palwai (Pawan again) which happens thirty years ago in Varanasi. The girl in his life is Vasumathi (Kriti).

While Michael defies Senapathi’s views on life and love with logic and practical thinking, he begins to feel the emptiness from inside. Meanwhile, Meera’s marriage is fixed with someone else.

What happens after that? Does Michael realize true love? All this forms the rest of the story.

Artists Performance:

Pawan Kalyan has given an energetic performance and he scores the brownie points with his timing of dialogues. He looks stylish in the modern role but should have been careful in choice of costumes in flashback episode.

Trisha looks good after putting on some extra pounds of flesh. She is cute as usual and fills the glamour and emotional quotient wherever required.

Kriti Kharbanda looks like a doll but then she should have been more versatile with her expressions. The innocence is there in her eyes but it is not done with conviction. Overall, she did a decent job.

Paresh Rawal was brief, Sonu Sood looks elegant, Donna looks sizzling hot, Ali brought few smiles, Koyalagundla Harish and Arundhati Aravind made their presence felt. Tanikella, MS Narayana, Kasi Viswanath, Mukesh Rishi, Pragathi filled the screen at necessary scenes.

Highlights:

* Pawan Kalyan’s performance(Arjun Palwai)
* Songs, background score
* Trisha’s glamor
* Locations
* Cinematography and emotional sequences
* Second half, especially the last 30 minutes

Drawbacks:

* Ali, Pawan, Trisha’s drunk sequence at hotel was dragged
* Michael Velayudham (Pawan) over action.
* Pawan- Trisha liplock sequences
* Flashback episode missed natural appeal
* Mismatch of costumes for Pawan in flashback episode
* No Comedy
*Not be a recipe for the mass or commercial audience (B, C centers).
* English Dialogues (Not Understandable)
* Italian Dialogues By Pawan Kalyan (Over Action)

Final Analysis:

After a long time, Pawan Kalyan was seen in full spirits and seemed to enjoy his role and characterization.

The film comes across with an ideology clash between the current generation and the generation that has gone by when it comes to essence of relationships. While the intention is noble, this may not be a recipe for the mass or commercial audience (B, C centers).

As such, this is a movie which appeals the class and urban (A center) audience. Also, with good technical and production values coupled with few nice songs, the film has a feel good factor and turns out to be a smooth breezy entertainer. Pawan Kalyan fans might get reminded of his ‘Khushi’ days. The film will connect well with those who haven’t watched the original in Hindi (Love Aaj Kal).

Pawan Kalyan has broken the rule this time and performed something out of the box (esp with lip locks). In actual sense, this film has to be done by any younger hero. Trisha looked hottest in best way possible with ample thigh shows and deeper necks. She came out with full dose glamor.

The first half suffers little ups and downs(boring) while last 30 minutes(watchable) stood as highlight with gripping. After this movie Pawan Kalyan will become Tollywood Emraan Hashmi.
